There’s A Lot to Celebrate at Saugus Union School District - January 23, 2024!
We have a lot to celebrate at the Saugus Union School District - from student achievements, to board member service, to national recognition as some of America's Healthiest schools - we have a lot going on. Our district is so dynamic thanks to the efforts of our governing board members, our cabinet, our staff, our students, and our families.
January 23, 2024
At the January 23, 2024, governing board meeting, we had two reasons to celebrate. One student from each school site received the Above and Beyond Award for going above and beyond.
Also at the governing board meeting, Kaiser Permanente recognized the district for having all school sites nationally recognized as some of America's healthiest schools. Schools can receive recognition in nine categories. Only 14 schools nationwide were recognized in all nine categories. Of those 14 schools nationwide, nine were from the Saugus Union School District! Representatives from Kaiser Permanente gave a special recognition to our wellness teacher on special assignment (and current lead teacher on special assignment at West Creek Academy), Samantha Ford, for her efforts in ensuring our district received the recognition. They also presented a Thriving Schools Grant to the district in the amount of $15,000.
